My user's login picture changes to random dandelion pic (??)

Change it in your Me card in the Contacts.app to match your

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and set the Contact card to the image of your choice. Reboot normally and test to see if the photo sticks or not.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following; 

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts 

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

From what is appearing as your Avatar in this site is Blank ( Fourth image )

Using Safari, log in to icloud.com with your Apple ID. What is the avatar that you see there? The correct one? Or something else? FWIW, the expected behavior is for your user account in your mac to use the same image that is selected for your Apple id.

And I do exactly what it suggests in those links above to change my user picture. It's the same everywhere (Macbook, iPhone, iCloud.com), but it keeps disappearing (changing to blank) in "My card" in Contacts app on Macbook and as a result I see a dandelion pic as my avatar on a login screen.
