I have a smart tv and I am using the Apple TV app. When I access the app, the screen is black with no sound. Suggestions?

I have a Sony smart tv with an Apple TV app. When I click on the app, I get a black screen with no sound. I watch a show with no problem two days ago. Suggestions?

  1. Try restarting the internet equipment (modem, router, switches, Wi-Fi access points, repeaters, mesh nodes, etc.),
  2. Try restarting the smart TV,
  3. Check for system software updates, and apply if available,
  4. Try a delete and re-install of the Apple TV app.

If after all these steps the issue persists, then contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance.
