Can I make my mouse select more sensitive?

I've MacBook Air M1 with external USB-mouse. While clicking things I notice some inaccuracy compared to Windows machine. Maybe it is just tens of milliseconds delay or the are for the selection for the buttons on the screen is little bit smaller compared to Windows? I'm IT professional and doing things quite fast on the screen so most probably "ordinary" user does not feel anything odd. But yes I have to many times per session click more firmly something.. I don't suspect reason to be anything mouse hardware related but maybe it is more in Mac's DNA? Of course I might try with another corded (this one is also) mouse...

E.g. if you close program with top left corner via red (x) button you have to sometimes press it one more time to make system follow your order

Thanks

There is sensitivity setting for double click. None for the single click, maybe because it should work no matter how quickly one presses left button of the mouse. I thought that this was intentional that user has really concentrate while pressing something e.g. closing application that it won't happen too hesitantly. But maybe this is not the case while you told that don't see difference compared to Windows. Maybe something fishy with my setup, gonna try different mouse altogether current one is working otherwise fine. Thanks

A click is a single moment in time ... what's to vary? A double click has a time interval (that a single click does not have) and that interval can be altered. There's nothing to alter with a single click unless you're talking about "dwell" time of your fingertip on the left side of the mouse.

You still have not given specific examples of what you want.

But anyway, maybe someone else can solve your disastrous dilemma.

Good luck

I want close some arbitrary application with just one click with left button at top left corner. So I don't need to do that second time, having to keep mouse button little bit more on pressed state.

I thought that maybe there is some "how many milliseconds button has stay down" before it is registered as -well- a click and some fining tuning for that. Is it 50ms or more and while releasing the button then it is taken as a click. Maybe there isn't any so as long as mouse says "button down" and "button up" signal messages as a pair then click command it is for the system. Or can it be that there is some internal setting that closing application doesn't happen with some swift accident mouse click for the red corner, one has to be more dedicated and firmly for closing application
