I have a 24" iMac with Ventura 13.4.1 operating system and the downloads folder now shows there only because I found it buried somewhere and then I moved it there. But nothing actually downloads to it. Other people seem to have had this problem and I'm wondering if a solution has been found.
Anybody have any answers?

The default Downloads lives in your Home/user folder ...
the key shortcut is —Shift Command H
Does it work there as expected, ie add or delete files...?
You can remove the one in the sidebar like any other folder in the sidebar
You can use the Finder>Settings>Sidebar to add it back
As well Downloads alias can sit on the right side of the Dock
Use folders in the Dock on Mac
are you using any third-party sync software like: OneDrive, GoogleDrive, BackBlaze or DropBox any of these can be set to caputure downloads upsurping your default.

As info.....you might try updating to the most current version of Ventura which is 13.5.2
Yes. I found it. Thanks so much. Is there any way I can just drag it to the sidebar to live, as that's where it's always been for me and I like it there.
