iCloud and appleID confusion

I think I upgraded to 200GB iCloud storage and then later upgraded to 2TB iCloud storage and that seems to be causing some problems with syncing. I think I upgraded to 2TB with the wrong AppleID. My iPhone and iPad seem to be doing fine but my iMac won't sync. Can I downgrade from 2TB by unsubscribing, then upgrading again with the other AppleID, or is this a bad idea? I don't remember what AppleID I used for the 200GB plan, and I don't want to lose my files.

A. Assuming you mean download...

Download, then Upload iCloud:

A1. Yes. Note that purchases cannot be synced across devices. So, you'd have to perform the data transfer manually. You would download it to an external drive, and then upload it all to the iCloud Drive on the other account. Enable iCloud Drive in the System Settings. "iCloud and appleID confusion: thanks. This doesn't explain why the problem happened (lack of syncing to iCloud), but you have provided me with an easy way to back up my iCloud account so I can troubleshoot. Clay"

Yes. Waiting it would would be just fine. But, for safety purposes, just be sure to create a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the upgrade.
