Bought a new iphone se at Walmart. I need to port my old phone # from a 1st gen iphone se to a 3rd gen iphone se, switching from AT&T to Straight Talk due to coverage issues. Straight Talk says I have to buy one of their phones to switch...

your phone number is controlled by the sim card

if you are switching operator then the to carriers need to take action on getting your number transfered
