MacBook Pro M1 Keyboard lights uneven

[in my opinion] If you can tell the keys one from another in near-darkness, the feature is operating as designed. Even-ness or pleasingly similar lighting effect for each key was never part of this design.

You miss the point.

The backlight will always be uneven.

Turn it off completely if it bothers you further.

Keyboard backlight is always going to be uneven...

Try turning up your room light and your "issue" will be less noticable.
