Wifi is missing in the network interface popup

I am try to fix my wifi as it doesn't switch on (status OFF).

networksetup -listallnetworkservice shows only thunderbird and Bluetooth

The system Information shows that I have Wifi in the Network panel and also can see the Airport Utility 6.3.9

I also resetted the files in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

The Airport utility shows no base station configured.

I see in the system log that the wifi.wifiagent: Service only ran for 0 seconds.


I can't get my wifi to start and connect to mobile Hotspot data in phone



MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.7

Yes. But as you can see in the image I'm showing, most typical WiFi cards aren't just inserted in the internal port, but also depend on cables to attach to their round terminal ports. These can get damaged with a surge, or improper install. That's why it pays to have a service technician verify why the WiFi is not showing up, especially with older computers:

These are electrostatically sensitive equipment, and take a lot of delicate work to access. And while your machine is under warranty, it is good to have it looked at it regardless by an authorized service provider.
