mp3 players that work with apple os (not android)

Bought a Sony Walkman NW A306-but it's an android os and doesn't take mac updates (BB sales guy missed that detail, zilch on the box). Can anyone recommend an mp3 player that will work with mac updates?

No more iPod so where can we download our bought CDs etc & listen via bluetooth? I use apple music app on my MacBook air to download CDs ... need a portable device I can use for traveling. See alot of odd brands on the internet, wondering what's reliable...
