What to do: If you can't redeem your Apple Gift Card or App Store & iTunes Gift Card - Apple Support
says:
"If you can't read the code on the back of your card because it's scratched or damaged, contact Apple Support."
Also:
You might need to provide:
- An image of the full front and back of your card.
- A sales receipt showing when your card was purchased.
- The serial number from your card.
(NB: see at the bottom the above article: "Find your serial number" and illustrations.
The serial number is not the same thing as the code that begins with "X" that you use to redeem the card.

Thank you .. setting to sort by "oldest" is a good idea! We have no way of knowing what others view may be, with the default sort order as "Best" :-)

Thankyou: I mostly have it set to "Best" to see what most are seeing, but it is really necessary to sort by oldest at times in order to view the timeline of posts for making sense of them all.
