iOS 17 Apple Watch lost Timer complication

I just updated my Apple Watch to iOS 17. The Timer is no longer on my watch face as a complication. I used this ALL the time. I know the timer can be found in the Apps but it was so easy to have it as a complication. Why was it removed? Please, put it back. So many people I know love this feature.

thank you.

-Press and hold your watch face

-press Edit

-swipe left twice

-each complication should have a circle or maybe a rectangle around it. Tap the one you want for your timer, e.g., top left, bottom right, etc.

-timers is a choice in the list. If you’re not seeing it, it might be the watch face you chose doesn’t have it… I know in the past, not every option was available for every face.

The timer complication only brings up the timer. That's the way it has always worked. If what you're tapping on is bringing up the stopwatch, you've got the wrong complication. They do look very similar.

I'm using one of the new watch faces with the timer complication and it works just fine.

You can also start a time by saying, "Siri, set a timer for 22 minutes". I tend to use that far more often.

I commented a little while ago. I tried the fixes suggested and they didn't work. However, after a scheduled update (can't remember which one) it started working as it used too. I have the complication set to middle of my screen. It shows a timer counting down there when I lift my wrist. When inactive, I only have to tap it there to see a list of recent timers or or pre-set timers (1,3,5mins etc) and tap one to start it off. All in all, nothing I did corrected the issue but an Apple update did. I almost always use Siri to start a timer though. I don't know if that changes the way it interacts.

This is the exact issue I am having. Crashes every time.

Before the issue, I had the Timer Complication set to Middle. Whenever I asked Siri to start a timer, it would show the time counting down in the middle of the watch. No need to open the app. Now it just sits there showing 'Last Timer' when I ask for an active timer. If I tap it, it will still bring up the active timer full screen. It was really handy to just glance one handed at the watch to see time left. Now it takes both hands to see remaining time. Very frustrating.
