homepods still require “Hey Siri” after OS 17 update
After updating iPhone, four Homepod Minis, and Apple TV 4K to OS 17, Homepods not responding to “Siri”; still require me to say “Hey Siri”. iPhone seems to be taking all “Siri” requests.

Problem solved. Listen for “Hey Siri” or “Siri” is not an option in Homepod settings with the Homekit app on iPad 5th Gen or older, as these are no longer supported in iOS 17. However, it is an option on iPhone 10 and younger using iOS 17.

This worked! After upgrading iPhone to iOS 17.x go into Home on iPhone, in upper right choose gear wheel for Home Settings. Scroll down to Listen for..., tap that and you'll see that setting for Siri now offers listen for Siri, or listen for Hey Siri and Siri.
Finally!! Thank you, Apple!! Much needed update.
Check your HomePod Siri settings.
There is an option to turn on "Siri" or "Hey Siri" vs just "Hey Siri".
I had to turn it on for it to work after the update.
.
Same here, although in settings it’s choosen to respond to “hey Siri” or “Siri”
