The "typical" value will be determined by age of the battery - and the current iPad workload. At 5%, you can expect imminent shut-down; you might have 15 minutes or less.

At 5% battery, my older iPad Pro will only last anywhere between 15-25 minutes, depending on what I am doing.

If my screen is in Night mode, or not, and the brightness of my screen ( which in night mode is, usually, around 70%-75% and when night mode is off, usually around just over 50%, maybe 60%, battery will last about 20 minutes, or so.

If I am doing any major screen use ( touching ) activities, 5% battery will ,usually, last anywhere between 15-20 minutes, tops!

You really should NOT let the iPad get below 10% and Apple recommends charging with external power when the battery reaches 20%.

With my 7-year old iPad Pro, I, typically, now, do not ever let it get to 10% and external charge anywhere between 10-20%, now.

Being a fairly old iPad, now, and in,,nearly, constant use, I no longer want to risk letting the battery discharge really low or to zero.
