airpods pro 2 wont connect to newly updated iphone

I recently update my iPhone 12 Pro Max to the newest iOS 17. However, after the update the AirPods Pro 2 won’t connect to my iPhone, and I cannot use the noise cancellation features.

The AirPods still connect properly to my iPad Pro m1 that runs on iPadOS 16.6.1.

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14
