Wait so you saying that the battery was never calibrated in iOS 16 or iOS 15 , iOS 14 and so on. When people bought these phones.
The battery is calibrated. No matter the iOS you using. He is asking why is it draining faster on iOS 17. It’s due to the phone is re indexing. Everything give it 2-3 days after the iOS 17 download
It's unclear if you are talking about "battery health" or simple "charge percentage". That is why people are giving conflicting answers.
Of course your battery will drain quicker immediatly after an update, there is a lot going on in the background. If you mean your "battery health", well 2% drop would be alarming after an update. But 98% health for a phone over six months old is acceptable, expected, and nothing to do with the update.
That’s how apple works. Majority of the ppl that charge there phone to 100% everyday, will be needing a new battery in 2 yrs, due to all the wear a tear, on the battery. If apple gave a bigger battery that can last more then 2 days like just putting a 6000mAh battery then it will got to 4 yrs since, since you will be charging it every 2nd to 3rd day.
best thing to do to keep your battery running longer is to just charge to 80% then unplug. Charge to 100% if you travelling and really need that extra 20% battery life.
It’s normal for a battery to drop 1-2 percent every month on average. The update has nothing to do with your battery, it’s just that your battery is calibrated and now you are getting the actual battery percentage. Don’t worry as long as your battery is above 80 percent.
Thank you for your input.
I have brought my phone on April of this year it’s only about five months,Battery must not drain……
The battery will drain as you use it. You can’t stop it.
Before I update to iOS 17 my battery percentage is 100 just after I updated my battery percentage is 98, within an hour it should not be drained,
1 to 2 % every month is not acceptable. If that was the case ALL iPhone users with Apple care+ would be getting a new battery within 2 years of purchase.
I get it. I have everything fully optimized. Just find it odd how drastically it changed. Literally overnight.
