I want a new iPhone to replace my iPhone 7 but I don't want a brand new one

I am in need of a new iPhone to replace my iPhone 7 . I don't want a brand new one , maybe 12 to 14 ? Is it a violation of community guidelines to post this in the iPhone community to get the opinions of other users as to which one they recommend ?

I didn't pay attention to the refurbished deals , but I will now that you mentioned they're nearly identical .

🧭 I use my iPhone for directions & emergencies , otherwise I like my iPad because I can see and type better . The iPhone 7 screen is quite small .

I read that the iPhone 15 is the least expensive new iPhone with nice features and it's

$100.00 less than the 14 !

👌 Okay , I think I'm on the right track now , thanks once again for sharing your experience .

I'll give you a version of my standard speech......

Without knowing more about how you use your phone, it's hard to make a specific recommendation. However, in general, I would recommend that you buy the latest model your budget allows. That will give you the longest supported lifespan for the device. Since you keep your phones a long time, I'd go with the iPhone 14 rather than the 12.

If you're not in a hurry, keep an eye on the Apple Refurbished site. They don't have an iPhone 14's today but they do have iPhone 12 and 13s, including some pro models. What they have changes often. I've bought my computers from that section of Apple for years and can tell you that Apple Certified Refurbished devices are indistinguishable from new except for the packaging. And have the same warranty as new. If you do find what you want, be prepared to order it right away or it may be gone.

Honestly, there isn't really a wrong choice here. Anything you get will be such a leap forward from what you have now (loved my iPhone 7!) that I think you'll be happy.

Good Morning Anne!

I think this is a valid question to ask of the community, but you will get more eyes on it if you ask in the iPhone forums.

This forum section, "Using Apple Support Communities," although intended for questions about using the forum software, has become somewhat of a dumping ground and some people now avoid it.

If you would rather we ask the Mods to move this to the iPhone section so you don't have to start another thread, let us know.

Good to see your progress here.
