Need driver for HP laserjet 1012 for Ventura update sept 2023

I got my 1012 to work with the latest Ventura update by selecting the driver for HP Laserjet series PCL 4/5. I also checked "share printer on this network."

it's on the list as supported by the gutenberg drivers

my understanding—

free Gutenprint  5.3.3 driver ... not past macOS Catalina in Fall 2019.

I confirm my HP Laserjet 1012 works with Sonoma 14.1.1with the built in HP Laserjet series PCL 4/5 driver, thank you so much.

HP laserjet 1012 is a fantastic printer as well as being a really old model. No wifi links etc its old school and I love it! So please don't suggest getting a new printer - I already know that is an option!

If it is listed as AirPrint printer, delete the existing printer in

I am running Ventura and my 1012 works fine and has so, since Snow Leopard. My system shows driver version 2.0.4. I have never had to reload a driver when upgrading. Perhaps a driver is available from HP's website.

I agree, a great printer even after all these years.

If all else fails try the Canon websites in Europe. The EU has stricter rules than the US regarding supporting older models and you may find a driver there.
