Astronomy Location (green dot) no longer showing up in iOS 17

Prior to upgrading to iOS 17, when using the astronomy wallpaper (earth), with the location service enabled, we used to get the green dot wherever we were.

With this new release, it no longer shows up... only a single ping wave, and then nothing.

Is there a way to get that back? if not, why can't apple add that functionality as an option in preferences?

Is there a way to re-enable it thru a terminal command?
