My Hotmail account can't seem to send or receive emails in the Mail app

have a macOS Monterey, version 12.8.9 computer.......but am not receiving or able to send emails on any device I have using hotmail

what has changed recently to stop hotmail working. ive reset and its worked for the last 10 years. Around 1 month ago it just stopped getting mail. I can log into live through the web page however the mail app loads the emails when it feels like it and errors most the time with smtp error. All my settings are correct and I’ve done everything google and this forum say.

I have multiple email accounts on my ipnone 13. But I am not able to send or reply to any email using my hotmail account. I have multiple email accounts on my ipnone 13. I am able to recieve emails from hotmail but just can respond back to them using hotmail. I even tried deleting the account and adding it again to the phone. Still no fix.

Maybe because hotmail is Microsoft? I would download the outlook app from the macstore or another Microsoft mail app that’s compatible with your device.
