Scale parameter issues after lots of tracking

I'm tracking little round videos onto Christmas ornaments in another "main" video. Everything was going dandy, and the trackers themselves are still tracking onto the ornaments in the original video fine, but the videos that are *being* tracked are suddenly very lazy at following the tracker, and even weirder, once I track them, my scale parameters get all wonky. I can change the scale parameter manually in the right sidebar (entering a % value) without issue, but for some reason when I try to resize the video in the viewer (clicking and dragging the control points) the video immediately scales up to 150074069783293290000000000000%. Yes, you read that right. No matter what direction I try to scale it, it just shoots up to that value. Whereas I believe the scale value is supposed to max out at 400%? Very strange and very annoying.

I've had as many as 12 tracked videos on screen at once without issue - after that it's smaller shots of only 3 or 4 videos being tracked at once. I've done 5 shots total, with 25 total tracked videos... is 25 some kinda limit? I doubt it, I assume the tracking feature would stop working all together rather than getting lazy and doing this weird little glitch. Please advise, I've got nothing. Anyone else done this much tracking and survived?

Start by deleting the preferences, which is always worth a try when the application behaves weirdly (and boy this percentage is weird!).

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences. The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

If the issue persists, then maybe there is some overflow in all those trackers. I never did something similar.

If you are actually bumping against a limit like 25, you may need to do this in stages. Apply some trackers, export, import and then apply the rest.
