Facebook not working after iOS 17

After ANY iOS/iPadOS upgrade/update, you should ALWAYS perform a simple hard reset/forced restart of your Apple mobile device.

For iPad models with a Home button, do a simple hard reset/forced restart of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake/power button simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

OR

For much newer design iPad models, without a Home button, try the new simple hard reset/forced restart procedure for the new 2018-2022 iPad Pros, 2020/21 iPad Air 4 and 5, the 2021 iPad Mini 6 and the new 2022, 10th gen base models,

1. Press and release the volume button closest to the top Power button

2. Then immediately ( and quickly ) press and release the volume button farthest from the top Power button.

3. Then, press and hold the top single sleep/wake/power button You will see the Slide to Power off button, but keep on holding down the power button until you see the Apple logo, then let it go.

Once you have performed all the steps, wait for a few seconds and your 2018-2022 iPad will boot up completely to the iPad’s Lock screen.

Facebook has an update to fix this problem, just goto the App Store and click on the Facebook update.

On my iPad Air 3 iOS 17, I found the problem was in Safari. If I load marketplace through Chrome the crashing does not happen. Hope this helps.

I’m based in the UK and since installing iOS 17.0.1 and having Facebook dropping out on my iPad and iPhone. Tried turning off, uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail. Anyone from Apple have any suggestions or solutions.

Did you try any of the hard reset/forced restart procedures I posted in my above reply?

Some people have also forgot to tell you to initiate Reseting your Subscriptions to re provision your account and also to reset your network setting hope that fixes it for u x

My Facebook app on iPhone 13 after new iOS 17 isn’t working and keep crashing. I tried shutdown the iPhone and also delete app and reinstall. It still isn’t working.

Hi, I personally found that Facebook sort’s itself out within 2 / 3 days of updating with iOS 17. I did try the hard boot suggestion but found this did not fix the issue.

I’ve tried everything suggested and the forced shutdown but still my Facebook brings up the login screen then says no internet connection which is incorrect. Everything else on my iPad is online. I even tried rebooting my internet. FB still works on my Samsung phone but not my iPad.

Hi MichelPM, yes tried your suggestion of reset / forced restart but it did not work.

Today I’ve noted the iPhone is now working okay but the iPad still drops out.

Just an update to advise my iPad and iPhone are now fully functioning as before the update.

I did not apply any type of fix either, so can only presume a glitch somewhere within the system.

Yes. Five times on iPad to iPhone. No change. But deleting and reinstalling Facebook seems to have corrected some problems.
