Mail not automatically inserting sender's address when replying. Ventura.

Since updating to Ventura, some emails have this in the info section in the summary section at the top of the email - Reply-To: "", instead of the sender's name. It's infuriating, because if I don't notice and add an attachment, it then obviously says, "You need to add a recipient", I then do so but it then REMOVES my attachment but doesn't tell me it has done so. I then receive the usual reply from the person I sent the email to saying " You forgot to add the attachment!" I'm learning that some emails just don't reply correctly and I have to check before adding the attachment that the sender name is there, and if not typing it in before adding the attachment. I cannot see any obvious settings anywhere to adjust to stop this hapenning. A solution would be amazing, thank you!

Q - " Mail not automatically inserting sender's address when replying. Ventura."

A - Apple Mail >> Top Menu bar >>> Window >> Down menu appears >> Previous Recipients

If the persons' e-mail address is listed, just type the first few letters of their e-mail address or Persons Name should auto fill the To: field in address bar of the e-mail

If I type only " be " it will auto fill " Beverly "

refer below and redacted personal info

Thanks for your reply.

I understand fully how to get a name in the "To" field. My frustration is that I shouldn't have to ADD a name having just clicked REPLY. There should be only one thing in that field if I'm replying, that is the whole nature of REPLY. It always used to put the name in there automatically, but for some reason not any more. As I say, sticking the name in is easy enough, however if I don't notice the name has NOT been automatically added until after I have added attachements, and then I insert the name of the person to whom i am replying, it then REMOVES my attachments. The logic of this is totally absurd IMO! Phew! I know this seems petty but it's really annoying me as I'm reguarly replying to emails for my business, with attachments, and this is so inconsistent and annoying.

Thanks again if you can shed any light on this specific issue.

Welcome though refer to below for additional information

If I may parse your above wording

Whenever I hit Reply to the Senders receive e-mail, it auto picks up the address of the Sender and places it in the To field

Example is the Notification from Apple Support Community related to your question

Now If I were Forwarding that same exact same e-mail - the pervious suggestion would apply
