HELP! Huge lose of quality when editing 4K footage on an HD project

I've been reading that many people had the same problem, but nobody seems to have found a solution. I've tried doing the same thing on Premiere, and the quality doesn't change as much as it does on FinalCut.

I imported my BRAW footage on Final Cut using the Braw Toolbox, and I'm working on an HD project (as it's a long video that I will upload to YouTube). And the change on the quality (sharpness, etc) it's really, really big.

I hope someone can help me!

Thanks,

Playback quality was set as Better quality + Optimized, and there's no difference between using the ProRes files imported by the Braw Toolbox, or the ProRes files transcoded on Da Vinci Resolve... it looks like FinalCut tremendously lowers the quality of the files when working on a 1080p project. Because it definitely looks different when doing the same but on Premiere.

Can you post some example screenshots?

And possibly Mediainfo information about the transcoded files?

Or maybe in the Terminal run an mdls on one of the transcoded files?

Is the Timeline rendered?

Do the exports of the 1080 project look lower quality as well?

I haven't cut BRAW in 10.6.9 yet but in 10.6.8 and prior I've had no issues transcoding 4K BRAW in Resolve then importing and editing at 1080 in FCP.

Have you checked to see if your up to date on Pro Video Formats?

Pro Video Formats 2.2.7
