Application Memory - Final Cut
Going to ask this again.
iMac Pro 2017 running Final Cut. As this is both my editing machine and personal/family machine I have normal folders like Pictures and I run iTunes from it as well.
I posted a couple of weeks ago about Application Memory. Whilst editing, the yellow warning triangle came up and stated Application Memory was low. This is confusing on its face because only Safari and Final Cut were open at the time. This is not a 1995 MacBook. This machine aught to be able to handle Safari and Final Cut both running.
Reponses led me to believe that if you are using Final Cut, you basically should not have anything else running - or even have anything else on your machine.
So - since all my video files are on external drives, can anyone tell me how they have set up their machines with Final Cut so that this does not happen? I have many FC Projects, should they somehow be stored elsewhere? Are all your other applications somehow on external drives as well? What about your Music and Library folders?
And please don’t assume everyone is a MacTech and knows everything about Macs. Most of us aren’t. Most of us bought what we felt was the right box for the work and typically use it without any issue. Then something odd happens and we reach out for help.
Thanks!
iMac Pro, macOS 12.6
