Non apple replacement battery

From reading some feedback regarding batteries plus, I can only assume that I screwed myself by getting a NON apple battery replacement on my phone. I have been trying to update the IOS 17 and it just doesn't do it.

What If I had a apple battery put back in would I be ok? Or am i reading this correctly that apple wont touch my phone? And worse than that my phone is worthless on a trade-in now and its in really good condition. I have an 12 Pro Max

I don't know why you felt you needed to start a completely new thread, when you asked this exact question in your first thread. This is a user to user only forum. We can't speak for Apple.

But this is the answer I provided to your question in your original thread:

You can certainly take your iPhone to Apple and be honest about having the battery replaced and acknowledge you now know it was a mistake and see if they would be willing to replace the battery. But they may refuse and only Apple or an actual Authorized Apple Service Provider have access to genuine Apple Batteries.

Hence why Batteries Plus didn't tell you anything other than sure, we can replace your battery. If they had told you up front they can't possibly install a genuine Apple battery, as you said, you wouldn't have wasted your money there.

Go see if Apple will help you. Be that kind of person with your tail between your legs and be beyond nice when you ask if there is any way they might help you. But if they won't, which they are under no obligation to do, be nice about that too.
