I’m trying to update my 11 pro max to iOS 17 but it says I don’t have enough storage which I do.

I’m trying to update my 11 pro max to iOS 17 but it says I don’t have enough storage which I do. I still have to update to iOS 16.7 but everytime I try to do that an error pops up. What do I do ?

You shouldn't need to install the 16.7 update to upgrade to iOS 17. If the update file for 16.7 still appears in your storage you'll want to delete it since it's taking up storage space. After deleting that update file, see if you're then able to upgrade to iOS 17. Here are those steps, just in case:


Remove and download the update again

If you still can't install the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, try downloading the update again:

1. Go to Settings > General > [Device name] Storage.
2. Find the update in the list of apps.
3. Tap the update, then tap Delete Update.
4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest update.

If you don't see the update in the list of apps or if the issue happens again, you need to update your device with your computer:

* Update your device using a Mac with macOS Catalina or later
* Update your device using a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier, or a Windows PC

Learn how to use recovery mode if your computer doesn't recognize your device or your screen is stuck on the Apple logo for several minutes without a progress bar
