EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. How do you know it is a hard drive and noisome other file or app? Have you tried opening it to see what's inside? You could right-click on it to see what get info says about it. Finally, try restarting the computer in the Safe Mode. That fixes a lot of things. Press the Shift key on restart. The repair process takes several minutes while the OS repairs itself and empties its caches. Then restart normally and see what happens.
