My Apple Watch is only charging to 80 percent

It’s the last Apple Watch that came out last year. What should I do? It’s only been 9 months since I purchased it

Hi alethea196,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! Do you have Optimized Battery Charging turned on? If so, this may be expected at certain times. To turn this off, you'll want to follow the steps below:

About Optimized Battery Charging on your Apple Watch

If you want to turn off Optimized Battery Charging:
1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
2. Scroll down, then tap Battery.
3. Tap Battery Health.
4. Turn off Optimized Battery Charging.
5. Choose Turn Off Until Tomorrow or Turn Off.
If you have Apple Watch Ultra, Optimized Battery Charging is always on.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.

I went on a trip recently. During and prior to the trip my Apple Watch was set to optimized charging but would always be at 100% when I took it off of its charging station. Since returning, the watch will not charge past 80% by the time I am ready to go (I do not habitually check the watch when I first get up, only after I am showered and leaving the house). This forces me to take the charging station with me to work and temporarily disable optimized charging so that I can charge to 95% after I get to work. Why has the watch's charging schedule changed? How can I change the schedule so that the watch is charged to 100% before I leave for work?
