Did iOS17 delete group messaging? i can no linnger find it on my iphone XR. How do i reinstall it

Apple needs to add the group messaging tab back under the iMessage settings. We need to be able to send group texts to everyone in our circle without everyone in the circle getting a text from an individual in the circle that responds only to the sender and not the entire group. This is not a cell provider issue. The ability to turn off group messages has always been there.

Apple, I just installed IOS 17. The group message option is GONE!!! Please fix your buggy release…else, we take our business elsewhere!!!

so to be clear, this has not been fixed? Been using Group Text ! app for 7 years and works great and now cant use at all. Come on Apple, fix this thing

What happened to the option to toggle Group on and off in Messages under setting? We need that option back to selectively choose if/when we want a message sent to multiple people as a group r as an individual text. Need to send 1 text to many people at same time, but not as a group text where all recipients see all contacts or can reply to all....they need to go individually.

I agree! I’ve been searching all over Google trying to fix this problem. All I find are threads from Apple pretending like they don’t know what the problem is or saying that it’s not a change on their end.

Apple Geek!!! Please fix your IOS 17 to include group text option. Group text option was available in IOS 16 with the same carrier and was working fine on my iPhone before I updated to the latest IOS!!

I talked to someone at apple about this same thing. After playing around I found that I can still send mass texts individually if I shut off iMessage as well as MMS messaging HOWEVER there’s now a text limit so I can only send a certain character count in one text so you may have to break up a larger message into two or more messages. I practiced with my boyfriend to try and send him a message this way and just waited to see which one finally went through before attempting to send it to everyone. Super inconvenient and a pain now, but at least it’s a temporary solution until they hopefully fix or add it back in the next upgrade!

This is how to send a group text message on iPhone:

"Send a group text message

1. Open Messages and tap the Compose button .
2. Enter the names or tap the Add button  to add people from your contacts.
3. Type your message, then tap the Send button .

To send a group MMS message on an iPhone, make sure MMS Messaging is turned on. Go to Settings > Messages and turn on MMS Messaging. If you don’t see an option to turn on MMS Messaging or Group Messaging, contact your carrier to see if your plan supports Group MMS Messaging.

With iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, photos, links, and other content that are sent within the group message will appear in the Shared with You section of the corresponding content apps. If you don't want to see the photos and other content in Shared with You, go to the group message, tap the top of the thread, then turn off Show in Shared with You."

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? What happens when you attempt to send a group message? Also, what is your exact iOS version?

If you did have a group messages option in Settings for MMS previously and it's no longer there, then you'll want to reach out to your wireless carrier for further assistance since that's a feature that they would support, not Apple.
