Sending messages using dictation with my iPhone 13

When I send text messages, there is the option in the lower right corner to use my microphone for dictation. Last week when I dictate a message, it would repeat it back and asked if I wanted to change or send it. That option is no longer available, what setting got changed?

Hey there jlawrence82,

We recommend reading over the details below to learn how dictation is expected to work on your iPhone:

1. Tap in the text field to place the insertion point where you want to begin dictating text.
2. Tap the Dictate button on the onscreen keyboard (or in any text field where it appears).
3. When the Dictate button appears near the insertion point in the text field, begin to dictate your text.
4. To insert an emoji or a punctuation mark, or perform simple formatting tasks, do any of the following:
* Say the name of an emoji, such as “heart emoji” or “smiley face emoji.”
* Say the name of the punctuation mark, such as “exclamation point.”
* Note: In supported languages, Dictation automatically inserts commas, periods, and question marks as you dictate. To turn off automatic punctuation, go to Settings  > General > Keyboard, then turn off Auto-Punctuation.
* Say a formatting command such as “new line” or “new paragraph.”
5. When you’re done, tap the Dictate button; or Dictation stops automatically when you stop speaking for 30 seconds.

When you use a keyboard for another language, you can use Dictation in that language as well. See Add or change keyboards on iPhone.
