just updated my iPhone 11 to iOS 17.1, iPhone is not showing in iTunes sidebar but it connects to photos. need a solution tried restarting both devices multiple times. I use a MacBook Pro 2011 with iOS Mac Sierra

Does iTunes ask you to install an update and when you try does it say it can’t because of a network error?

If so, join the club. It appears to be a common problem with a lot of users involving the MobileDeviceUpdater app. There are workarounds, but there are no guarantees it will work….and I don’t see Apple interested in trying to fix this.

The 17.1 update messed up my entire library and I’ve got double albums showing now.
