Now, not to make you worry more, but did you already try resetting your Apple ID password before submitting this activation lock removal request? I ask because there are two things to keep in mind.
- If you haven't thoroughly attempted resetting the Apple ID password before requesting Apple remove the activation lock from their end it could result in a denial of the unlock request.
- If you have done the above, if/when they approve and remove the activation lock that means you cannot use this Apple ID on this phone again.
As KiltedTim said above, it is your responsibility to maintain your credentials, and Apple reiterates this a lot. While it can be frustrating the processes may take several days, it's because Apple is all about privacy and security and leave the control in the users' hands. If they made it too easy scammers would be a bigger issue.
