iphone sending incorrect edited imessages

When editing an imessage, the message that was sent after it was edited was incorrect on their end. I sent them a imessage, saying “testing 123”, then immediately after I edited it to say “testing 456”, everything was correct in my end but from her end it wasn’t. She sent me a screen shot and on her iphone it says “testing”. With the small words “edited” below the word. (FYI, I have the most current IOS update on my phone 17.0, as far as her I’m not sure.) I have the iphone 12 pro max and she has the 13, and am not sure if she has upgraded to 17.0 yet or not)
