FCP Crop - Getting Aspect Ratio Back

I use the Shift key when adjusting the Crop - that way the aspect ratio is maintained. But every now and again - I just forget to hold the shift key. This makes the aspect ratio incorrect. Is there an easy way to restore back to the original aspect ratio? I've already laid out a bunch of keyframes - so I can't click the Reset button at the top right - otherwise all those keyframes will get deleted. That's what happened when I tried anyway.

Wait. Does crop change the aspect ratio? I know trim will do this. I might be fine insofar as the aspect ratio goes - since I was only using crop.

In the Inspector > Crop — select Type > Crop.

You won't need to hold the shift key as the cropping will maintain aspect ratio, and if you've already Trimmed "in error", switching to crop will automatically impose the Project aspect ratio to the crop region.

If you're media AR is different than the project's ratio and you need to keep the media's AR, you will need to use Trim and hold Shift, but if you make an error, you can easily Reset and start over.
