iPhone 15 overheating

Hi everyone. I’ve recently purchased the new iPhone 15 pro max and it is heating up even when I’m not using it.

I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it maybe a setting that is causing it that I can turn off?

Any advice is appreciated. :)

That’s not great advice. Most people here are expressing that this is happening multiple times not just within the two days of getting a new phone and transferring a bunch of data. An $1,100.00 dollar device should not be randomly spiking in temperature with a month of purchase.

Be careful, I picked up a display model iPhone pro max at the Apple Store and burned my fingers today! 11/27/24 not resolved.

Display units in an Apple Store are on a charger 24 hours a day and used hard throughout the day by hundreds of customers in the store. This is not even close to how a Pro Max would be used by an individual.

I have owned iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, since the day they were launched and have had absolutely, positively, No, None, Zip heating issues on either iPhone.

I do hope your doctor can provide some medicine to heal your burned fingers. I've heard the Aloe Plant produces a sticky substance, which can be very effective in helping burns heal faster.

The update fixed the issues. More than likely by throttling the a17 processor and on the base model the heat issues have been resolved too probably by the same method of throttling. The one issue I have is the 15 lags or gets stuck where it’s unresponsive in certain cases like when using the photos app and editing photos while the camera app is still open or sometimes the keyboard gets stuck when camera is open. It’s annoying but at least the phone isn’t overheating anymore.

Ok, interesting point, possibly the store had not updated the display models. That needs to be followed up on for the safety of others. On this community, trying to find out how to follow up with a store manager, so it gets resolved and found that.

Having been responsible for the display models in a cell phone store for years, I can tell you that lobsterghost1 is correct. You are not seeing a normal phone under normal conditions. They are plugged in constantly and they are also running software constantly. The screens never lock. I never had a problem with iPhones wearing out but did have an ongoing issue with Samsung tables on display regularly needing to be replaced.

There are many reasons of overheating. It may be due to opening multiple chrome tabs like 100+, the other reasons is charging the mobile thorugh non stable electricity. Someone recommend me a solar system which provide 100% stable power i think I read about that company on this website https://calowatt.com/. You can also check and resolve your problem.

My Overheating issue is back and my Amazon Music app is again crashing within a minute because of the overheating or the app is still not optimized?

When you say the phone is "overheating", do you mean that you get the warning on the screen that the phone is too hot and it's going to shut down? Or do you mean something else. If you mean something else, please be specific about what is happening, what error messages you're seeing and how you are diagnosing this as overheating.

Does the phone overheat if you delete the Amazon Music app?

Update: My iPhone 15 pro max works fantastic - it took about 1 week to fix the overheating issue.

That's because I realized it's due to a lot of background activity, so I left the phone on charge overnight with WiFi on, and explicitly went through all icould images, so they'd all start downloading, and also everything else that needs to get done during initial setup.

Once it's done with all that - and this can take a long time due to the way it's only doing it when there is a demand - for example it left my photos on iCloud until I scrolled through them all, things like that - once it's done, everything is great.

I just used it to navigate on the bike, in full sunlight, GPS on, Maps on, everything worked totally fine - if anything this gets less hot than my previous iPhone.

Can we please get this answer to be accepted, since everyone has the issue, and they don't necessarily scroll down to where all the answers are that say you have to wait 2 weeks.

If it still overheats after 2 weeks, you probably actually have a bad phone. But my guess is, that's not a lot of people.
