Advice on where to apply EQ and Compressor
I have a roundtable discussion of 5 people recorded with lavs and shot with 4 cameras. The audio was delivered as individual tracks for each lav. I created the multicam with the 4 angles and all the lav audio tracks without issue.
The room is quite reverberant and has an AC hum at 260Hz. I've enabled voice isolation on each of the 5 audio tracks and that definitely helps with the reverb. If I use a Channel EQ I can notch out the hum, but I'm unsure about the best place to apply the Channel EQ (and ultimately a Compressor) and would appreciate advice from the hive mind.
Apply a Channel EQ and Compressor to each of the 5 lav tracks? Or after the multicam is edited in a project, compound it and then apply a single Channel EQ and Compressor?
I'm inclined to apply them to the compound because test applying them to each track seemed to take forever to be able to playback without weird audio artifacts, like it needed to render the audio, and any change caused the audio artifacts until it re-rendered. Granted it's a 90 minute multicam, so maybe this is normal.
