Messages detail for any contact, even non Apple has a alert in dialogue stating "You are currently sharing your location from “iPhone”.", that I can't disable.

On a MacBook running macOS Big Sur, in Messages, if I select a user, ( including non-iOS users as well as SMS message gateways ) go to the detail for that user, in that panel a message states: "You are currently sharing your location from “iPhone”." I've gone through every location sharing setting for every app on both macOS and iOS and don't see this setting enabled. I'm concerned I've been sharing my location, unbeknownst to me. How can I correct this so I am accurately reflecting my sharing status. It seems strange that my macOS MacBook alerts me about the sharing status of my iOS iPhone!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

Hello this-is-my-alias,

To stop sharing your location entirely, follow these steps on your iPhone: Find people and share your location with Find My - Apple Support

Stop sharing your location
To stop sharing your location with everyone, follow these steps. You can also stop sharing with a specific person, or turn off Allow Friend Requests.
1. Open the Find my app.
2. Select the Me tab.
3. Turn off Share My Location.

If the issue continues after taking the above steps, then check for an update to macOS to see if the issue is due to outdated software. Check out how to update here: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

Use Software Update
1. Before installing new software, it's a good idea to back up your Mac. If you have an external storage device, you can use it to back up your Mac with Time Machine.
2. To check for new software, open Software Update:
* From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings. Click General in the sidebar, then click Software Update on the right.
* Or in earlier versions of macOS, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Software Update.
3. If Software Update finds new software, click the Update or Upgrade button to download and install it. You will be asked to enter your administrator password, which is the password you use to log in to your Mac. During installation, your Mac might show a progress bar or blank screen several times.

If the issue persists, then reach out to Apple Support directly to help investigate the behavior. You can use the following link to reach out: Apple Support

Kind regards.
