Sleep Focus Mode On Apple Watch Ultra 2 Does Not Switch To Dark Mode Red Display

Ideally, I'd prefer the standard Dark Mode red with a dimmed display when using the Focus Mode of Sleep on the new Apple Watch Ultra 2, instead of the default in my case of a blue time and sleep icon. Is there a setting I might have overlooked that allows for this personalization? If not, I'd love to see this as an option in a future software update.

I'd venture to guess that this isn't limited to just the Apple Watch Ultra 2, but rather applies to all Apple Watches, and could be a feature or characteristic of the application or WatchOS.

I have two Watch Faces in My Watch, the first one is Modular Ultra, and the second is X-Large in blue. I suspect that the blue color and font face in the Focus Mode might be originating from the X-Large watch face, even though it's not the default. My Apple Watch Ultra 2 is running WatchOS 10.0.1 (21R360), so the most up to date WatchOS at the time of this post.

One more step that was needed to solve this concern was under Navigate to Watch > Focus > Customize Screens, then under Options turn off Sleep Screen. Worked as I preferred.

I'm confident Apple had good reasons for choosing the approach they released. Personally, I've developed two Apple Shortcuts to cater to my needs. With my Apple Watch Ultra 2, I've configured two watch faces. The first, starting with the Modular Ultra design, features white time and blue complications. The second, designated for bedtime, also uses Modular Ultra but with dark mode, showcasing red time and no complications.

Within the Apple Health app, I've established a daily sleep schedule from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and no alarm. Obviously, if this is something that anyone needs you can certainly set one. For me, I don't require an alarm.

Now, onto the Apple Shortcuts:

1. "Raise To Wake Off" consists of two steps: deactivating the wrist raise wake feature and setting the active watch face to the second Modular Ultra design. This Shortcut is triggered by an automation when bedtime starts.

2. "Raise To Wake On" incorporates three steps: turning off sleep mode (which is somewhat redundant), activating the wrist raise wake feature, and setting the active watch face back to the first Modular Ultra design. This Shortcut is triggered by an automation when waking up.

Both shortcuts seamlessly serve their intended purposes.
