I have an iPhone 15 with IOS 17. I went to the calendar app and wanted to search for a previous event. After typing the name nothing was returned. I tried several different searches and the same result. Then I tried a search for an even yesterday, the day my new iPhone was activated and only those are returned. This is very disappointing.

In case this calendar search issue is effecting anyone else. the 17.0.2 update resolved the issue for my iPad mini 5th gen. But not for my iPhone XS. It is still only returning very old results and recent edits. But none of the matching search results that should be there in between.
I have the same issue on both my 10 XS & iPad mini 5th gen since updating to iOS 17.0. And it persisted in 17.0.1. When initiating a search in the regular mail app on either device. My Gmail calendar doesn’t show any of the events that should match between 2015 and now. But it does show matched results from 2013 to 2015. If I edit a recent event, and search again. The edited event will now show up in addition to the results from 10 through 8 years ago. But that still leaves an 8 year gap of prior events I can’t search.

I updated my iPad (7th gen) to iPadOS 17 and it isn't affected, thankfully!! Still bummed that my phone calendar is "defective". [note: I made sure the calender included in the iCloud backup]
Thank You. I've updated my iPad 7th gen and iPhone 15 to 17.0.2. The iPad calendar search is as it should be. But the 15 either brings no search result or very limited. I don't get 'just' old sesrches.
I used to be able to find old events and notes in calendar but the updates now not showing so I have to remember the date and then it will show. Surely this could be all stored in iCloud so why can’t we search?
