Change account on shared photo album

My wife made a shared photo album with me and some of her family. She has made a new email address since she first created any accounts with Apple. On my phone, the owner of the album is listed as her name with her old email address and not even a phone number.

Where exactly should she be updating this information for this to reflect her current email address and phone number? She says she has at least updated her iCloud account.

I can add her information to the album members manually on my end, but we just ran into something else that may be related. We both got new phones recently and her family had issues (green texts to their group text coming from her email instead of her phone, not sure which email, and her dad wasn’t able to call her however he usually does, again not as sure about this part).

Any help would be great, thanks.

Hi double-gnar,

Thanks for reaching out and posting in Apple Support Communities.

It's going to depend on what your wife did exactly with the Apple ID.

  • If she created a new Apple ID, she will need to set up sharing again with the family as she did before. It sounds like the family sharing is still associated with the old account. See How to create a new Apple ID - Apple Support
  • If she only changed the email address associated with her Apple ID, everything should still remain the same, no changes. See Change your Apple ID - Apple Support for details.

Reach back out if you still have questions.

Take care!
