Safari 16.6.1 is only for macOS Big Sur and Monterey. See: About the security content of Safari 16.6.1 - Apple Support

With the release of Sonoma, Safari is at 17.1. HOWEVER when I click on a link in Mail while holding down the CMD key, it NO LONGER opens the link behind Mail. Instead, it jumps to Safari. If I want to open a sequence of links before proceeding to the browser, it's annoying. What got broken?

I don’t know why but for some reason my apps on my safari went away and I can get them to load back what can I do.
