Can I split windows within an app between different workspaces?

I've tried to get my head around using Mission Control and Stage Manager in Ventura, but I cannot figure out if the following scenario is possible:

I often work in many PDF files within Preview at one time. Many of these files have odd nonsensical names since I am rapidly pulling sources to start working with them, so using a conventional menu bar->Window name drop down selection work path will not help me sort through these files quickly.

I need to organize my open PDF files into 'spaces' or 'groups' (I am using these in a generic sense not as Apple terms) such that I could have a 'biology class' space that has say 5 PDF files, while another space called 'grant proposal' has say 3 PDF files. In a manner similar to the goal of Mission Control or Stage Manager, I want to quickly jump between these 'spaces' and clear the decks so that I only see these one at a time. From what I can tell, the OS will let me split my work spaces by apps, but not by windows within apps.

Please correct me if I am wrong, or if the OS does not provide this functionality, is there a third party add-on that will provide this functionality?

Well I am certainly not clear on the complexity of your situation...

I have never used "Stage Manager," ...no help there.

however —one thing I can say is an often overlooked feature is " Exposé "

This would be four finger swiped down for a given applications open windows across Desktops to reveal all open instances within that application, that you can easily move between or select.

example here is TextEdit.app in Exposé, 5 open windows and 20 most recent's (closed) are across the bottom...

I don’t use stage manager either.

There is no problem putting your windows in whatever Spaces you want. You can move windows from one Space to another in at leadt two different ways: using Mission acontrol, drag to the thumbnail of the Space you want; or just start dragging a window and, without releasing, use the keyboard shortcut to switch to another Space (like control-left or -right) and then let go when at the desired Space.
