Are used to be able to get immediately text messages from my children and my husband when they would text me and my phone was on silent. Now I can’t hear anything nor their customized ringtones that I purchased for them.

I would try changing them to one of the built-in tones. There are currently some issues with custom text tones.
Also, many of the Emergency Bypass functions are now part of Focus.
