Why does my iphone repeatedly remove all music that I added via my mac, leaving me with only those songs purchased from itunes?

At least 5 times now I have spent an hour transferring playlists and songs from my mac to my iphone using a lightning cable. The music is properly transferred and works fine. Within a day or two I will find that all music and playlists I added have been removed from my iphone and all that remains are songs that have been purchased previously. How can I prevent this from continuing to happen?

Hi there Croaker87,

It's possible that the music is removed due to storage settings. If you go to Settings > Music, is the Optimize Storage option turned on there? If so, when your iPhone is low on storage space, it will automatically remove music from your device. learn more about managing your storage here: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
