IOS 17 sound issue for 3rd party apps

There is an issue that has come up after installing IOS17 on 9/18/2023.

The default "alerting" sound (I believe referred to as "Rebound") for the 3rd party apps is not "alerting" at all. This default sound is negatively affecting my devices ability to provide security.

This issue is so bad that I will have to revert to an earlier IOS version.

Additionally, I have contacted the 3rd party companies to address the matter with them and they all point back to Apple's latest release of an OS that is causing this matter.

Please fix this "default" sound (called Rebound) with an updated version of IOS orrrrr allow the end user to select whatever tone they want tto use for 3rd party apps just as we do for texting functions, email, etc.

Thx

Report this to Apple, as I recommended to the OP in my above reply.

  1. REBOUND is NOT adequate as the default tone for any app including Find My and all third party apps that cannot be altered. There is NO excuse for not allowing customers who just paid $1,500+ to have the ability to CHOOSE. This tone is NOT loud and is basically two drops of water even with headphones, no surrounding noise or music on, is nearly impossible to hear. Get this fixed, the engineering team loves to change things the same way a surgeon is desperate to cut. There is NO need and in fact, ALL apps, Apple or not, should have the ability to allow the OWNER to choose what they want apply. Period.

Agreed. I Cannot Hear My Security Cam Alerts after the 17 update I’m running 17.0.3 waiting for 17.1 hopefully they correct this issue Rebound is Terrible-Tritone was Fine also there is a issue with the text tone and mail notification Sound… it’s too low even with MAX volume level…third party default Rebound the same but Ringtone is Fine.
