Some of my contact messages only show up for a month even though I have it set for forever? Others are there.

I have my messages set on save forever. For a few contacts I can only go back a month? Why????

Old iMessages for one contact not showing So I was audio messaging a friend and noticed that I could not scroll up see my iMessages. Other contacts iMessages from last year are still there but I cannot scroll up to see my friend’s iMessages. Only the ones sent this morning. I have not backed them up on iCloud.
