Copying and pasting whole pages to Numbers
I have a page in Numbers entitled "1920s composers." I want to copy and paste it to another Numbers' page entitled "Composers." It doesn't work. Only a word or two gets posted. Why is that?

It helps to know the basics of Numbers and what to call things when you ask questions about how to do things..
I highly recommend spending some time at Help > Numbers Help in your menu.
In the absence of a screenshot (that would help) it sounds as if you are trying to copy-paste multiple rows from one table to another table.
That's really easy, and consistent with most applications on the Mac. Simply select the rows you want in the first table, type command-c to copy to clipboard. Click once in a cell of a recipient table, type command-v to paste.

Numbers doesn't have "pages." Do you mean sheets (tabs)? Or tables? To post a screenshot: shift-command-4, select area, release, start new post here, and use the mountains-and-moon 'Image insertion' icon beneath the compose window to attache screenshot from the Desktop.

Hi Niku,
When I started to use Numbers, I thought it was a clone of Excel. I was wrong! Through this forum I began to see the Charm of Numbers. Excel has an "ocean" of cells on each Sheet. Each "ocean" has "islands" of data here and there.
Numbers allows several tables on one Sheet (Tab), or on different Sheets (Tabs). Each table has a purpose and can be small enough to suit that purpose. Each Sheet is a blank "Canvas" that can hold one or more "Objects".
For example, one Sheet might hold a huge "database" (table) which does not necessarily need to printed. Another Sheet could hold a small summary table, with graphs, pictures and shapes as a "Presentation" for your client or audience.
You can print "This Sheet" or "All Sheets".
Regards,
Ian.
I don't care what you prefer to call them, except that I find such a discussion rather irritating. Actually, that's completely irrelevant. Anyway, it's a form that contains many rows. My question is, why can't I copy and paste many rows of text from one Numbers page/sheet/table to another Numbers page/sheet/table?
I didn't send a Screenshot because I didn't think this place liked such things, and I didn't want to get scolded again. Also, the censoring and editing that is commonplace here does rankle sometimes. I just didn't want to get another warning/admonishment.
I'm now wondering if I could overcome the defects of the overly-large size of my Spreadsheet by just minimizing it as much as possible, even to the point of unreadability. After all, the recipient would not need to be told that it needs l to be expanded. Would that work? Is that a reasonable solution?

Screenshots are encouraged. A picture paints a thousand words and allows us to see what you see. Has one or more of your screenshots been censored? Did you receive an email explanation? We all get those "nastygrams" from time to time. Perhaps the screenshot showed personal or sensitive data such as names, addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses. The moderators on this site will delete such screenshots to stop scammers grabbing your data.
Before you take a screenshot, ensure that sensitive information is hidden, or replaced by dummy data (make a copy of your document and anonymise that).
Regards,
Ian.
I do have to say that this visit has gone pretty well. In fact, some of the nastier cracks have come from me. Well, "like begets like" so I'll keep an eye on myself in the future. One of the..no, why bring things like that up? I'll just accept the mellower forum and work with that. I hope it lasts.
Not sure what you are asking. You can educate yourself on the basics of printing here:

Yeah, I use it more and more, in more and more ways, and I see that there is more to go. Thanks, all.
