I am locked out of my account. Help me figure out please.

I have forgotten my apple ID password and I tried to reset my password at iforgot.apple but it said that my apple ID is not active. What should I do to have it back to normal? I tried google it and have not found any solution.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.6

If your Apple ID says it's inactive you need to reach out for support from Apple directly ->  Get Support
