2022 M2 MacBook Air charger repeatedly does not light up or show connected in battery settings.

Often 35 watt charger in switchable wall socket. If I disconnect MacBook, it may not charge for a while when reconnected and no sign of being connected when physically connected to several live wall outlets.

When plugged in to a live wall socket that other devices use, MacBook Air may be on Low Power Mode to keep me aware it is not working.

After a random period there may be a tone, screen brightens and either charging or on hold. Very disconcerting! Is my charging dongle defective?

Thank You Nick, Same with my 20 watt iPhone charger.

MacBook Air was plugged in overnight and indicates 99% battery charge but unconnected status when connected to live wall outlet. I only have one MagSafe cable that fits this new MacBook.

Battery settings appear to show intermittent 3 to 5 hour periods of connected and disconnected when it was plugged in overnight. Do new MacBooks disconnect from live power when fully charged?
