Voice Memos

I have a Macbook Pro and an iPhone Pro max. I have iCloud and backups for Voice memos enabled. But, the memos on my phone and the memos on my computer do not share with one another. How do I fix this?

Hey kdoxford,

Including Voice Memos in your iCloud backups is a little different than syncing them across devices. If you want your Voice Memos to appear on both your MacBook and iPhone, follow the guidance outlined here:

See your recordings on all your Apple devices - Apple Support

  • On your MacBook navigate to System Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive > Apps. Make sure you have Voice Memos enabled in the list of apps.
  • On your iPhone navigate to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and tap Show All,Make sure you have Voice Memos enabled here as well.

If you are using the same Apple account in iCloud on both devices, your Voice Memos should start to sync between devices. If they don't start syncing, restart both your iPhone and MacBook and check again. A restart will refresh the connection between your devices and the iCloud servers.

Your iCloud backups include data that is not regularly synced to your device. If you have Voice Memos enabled as part of your iCloud backup now, enabling syncing across devices as we described above will remove it from your backup. See What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support for details.

Kindest Regards.
